Esther Qin
Esther Qin (; born 18 November 1991) is a Chinese-born Australian retired diver. Personal life Qin was born in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China to a Zhuang family. Her family moved to Australia in 2009, as her father had found a position as a chef. Diving career In China Qin started diving at the age of eleven in China and competed in several national competitions. For Australia Qin competed at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia, won a silver medal in the 3m synchronised with Samantha Mills. She also competed in the 1 m and 3 m springboard. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, she won the gold medal in the women's 3m springboard, a bronze medal in women's 1m springboard and came 4th in the women's synchronised 3 metre springboard alongside Anna Gelai. The women's 3 metre springboard diving competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 12 to 14 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center in Barra da Tijuca. Diving At The 2016 Summer Olympics
The diving competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 7 to 20 August at Maria Lenk Aquatic Center in Barra da Tijuca. It was one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming, water polo, and synchronised swimming. The 2016 Games featured competitions in eight events (men and women events each of): 3m springboard, synchronised 3m springboard, 10m platform, and synchronised 10m platform. The diving competitions featured up to 136 athletes. All divers had to be at least 14 years old on or by 31 December 2016. On Tuesday August 9, the water of the diving well turned dark green, originally thought to be caused by the heat and lack of wind in the venue. However, at the time a CNN photographer took a picture, an adjacent pool in the same location was not green. Diving At The 2014 Commonwealth Games – Women's Synchronised 3 Metre Springboard
The women's synchronised 3 metre springboard was part of the Diving at the 2014 Commonwealth Games program. The competition was held on 30 July 2014 at Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. Format A single round was held, with each team making five dives. Eleven judges scored each dive: three for each diver, and five for synchronisation. Only the middle score counted for each diver, with the middle three counting for synchronization. These five scores were averaged, multiplied by 3, and multiplied by the dive's degree of difficulty to give a total dive score. Samantha Mills (born 23 March 1992) is an Australian diver. Mills was a gymnast through her childhood and early teens, briefly turned to pole vaulting before switching to diving. At the 2013 Summer Universiade, she won the gold medal in the Women's 1m and teamed with Esther Qin to win the silver medal in the Women's 3m Synchronized. In December 2014, she won the Women's 3m at the Australian Diving Championships.
