Estandarte is the tenth studio album released by Brazilian rock band Skank in 2008. Background The album features 12 new and previously unreleased songs and has partnerships with both Chico Amaral and Cesar Mauricio, in addition to the usual partnership with Nando Reis. The album also marks the return of Dudu Marote's production. One highlight is "Ainda Gosto Dela", featuring Negra Li emerging on the charts. The album also has the participation of the band Funk Como Le Gusta. The album is pop / rock mixed with soul, funk, reggae, surf music and electronic sounds. It marks the return of the group to the tunes of their earlier work, with strong influences from recent Britpop albums. The song "Sutilmente" has been one of the most acclaimed by fans, surprising even Samuel Rosa. Skank (band)
Skank is a Brazilian band from Belo Horizonte. Having begun in 1991, they sold approximately 5,200,000 copies of their albums as of 2004. Initially intending to mix dancehall with traditional Brazilian styles, later the band changed its sonority to music closer to Britpop and local movement Clube da Esquina. Biography In 1983, Samuel Rosa (guitars, vocals) and Henrique Portugal (keyboards) started to play in a reggae band called "Pouso Alto", along with Dinho Mourão (drums) and his brother Alexandre (bass). In 1991, Pouso Alto arranged for a performance in São Paulo, but due to the Mourão brothers not being in Belo Horizonte, bassist Lelo Zaneti and drummer Haroldo Ferretti were called for the gig. Bob Ludwig
Robert C. Ludwig (born c. 1945) is an American mastering engineer. He has mastered recordings on all the major recording formats for all the major record labels, and on projects by more than 1,300 artists including Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Bryan Ferry, Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen and Daft Punk resulting in over 3,000 credits. Samuel Rosa de Alvarenga (born July 15, 1966) is lead singer, primary composer and guitarist of Brazilian rock band Skank (band), Skank. Nando Reis (, born José Fernando Gomes dos Reis; January 12, 1963) is a Brazilian musician and producer, best known as the former bassist and one of the lead singers of Brazilian rock band Titãs and for his successful solo career, with his own band called Os Infernais. Surf Music
Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California.
