Estación Curicó, is a railway station of the Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado, located in Curicó, Chile . It is the main railway station in the Curicó Province. It is located on Maipú street. Estación Curicó is part of the Red Sur EFE, the TerraSur inter-city service has a stop here. The Ramal Licantén diverged from here, to the city of Licantén but the line was completely closed on 1977. The nearby Curicó Bus Terminal is within walking distance from the Station. Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (abbreviated EFE, lit. ''State Railway Company'') is the national railway and the oldest state-run enterprise in Chile. Curicó Province
Curicó Province ( es, Provincia de Curicó) is one of four provinces of the central Chilean region of Maule (VII). Its capital is the city of Curicó. It lies between the provinces of Colchagua and Talca and extends from the Pacific to the Argentine frontier, spanning an area of . According to the 2002 census, the population was 244,053. TerraSur
TerraSur (previously known as EFE Chillán) is a Chilean Inter-city rail service, opened in 2001 between Santiago and Chillán, on the ''Chilean Central Valley''. It is operated by the ''Trenes Regionales Terra S.A.'', a subsidiary of the Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE). Covering almost 400 km in less than 5 hours, it is the fastest public transportation between those cities. Currently it is one of the only inter-city services that still operates in the country, (the other intercity rail service is the Alameda-Temuco train, a seasonal train) and is the fastest rail service in South America, with an operational speed reaching 150 km/h. Since June 2012, TerraSur has two daily services on each direction, between Santiago and Chillán, increasing to three on Mondays. Licantén
Licantén is a town within the Licantén commune, administered by the Municipality of Licantén within the Curicó Province in the Maule Region of Chile. The commune also include the coastal town of Iloca. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Licantén spans an area of and has 6,902 inhabitants (3,654 men and 3,248 women). Of these, 3,974 (57.6%) lived in urban areas and 2,928 (42.4%) in rural areas. The population grew by 8.8% (557 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses. Estación Chillán, is a railway station of the Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado, located in Chillán, Chile. It is the main railway station in the Bío Bío Region. It is located on Brasil avenue. Estación Chillán is part of the Red Sur EFE, the TerraSur inter-city service has its final stop here.
