Espen Tveit
Espen Tveit (; born 31 December 1991) is a Norwegian speed skater specialising in the 500, 1000 and 1500 distances. He represents Herkules IF in Skien, and began training with the KIA Speed Skating Academy in Inzell, Germany, in 2012. Tveit's best placing to date at a Norwegian Championship is 4th, on the 1500 m in 2012, and he made his World Cup debut during the 2011–12 season, finishing 17th in the B division of the 1500 m. Speed Skating
Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors racing, race each other in travelling a certain distance on Ice skate, skates. Types of speed skating are long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. In the Olympic Games, long-track speed skating is usually referred to as just "speed skating", while short-track speed skating is known as "short track". Herkules IF
Idrettsforeningen Herkules is a Norwegian multi-sports club from Skien, Telemark. It is organized as an alliance club with independent sections for association football, team handball, track and field athletics, gymnastics, Nordic skiing and speed skating. The Norwegian Skating Association ( no, Norges Skøyteforbund, NSF) is the main skating authoritative body in Norway. It oversees speed skating, figure skating, short track speed skating on ice, and more recently inline and roller skating. The Norwegian Skating Association was founded on 27 February 1893 and currently has about 7,000 members. It is a member of the Norwegian Olympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, the International Skating Union (ISU), and Federation International de Roller Skating (FIRS). Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Skien. Skien is also the capital of Vestfold og Telemark county. Inzell
Inzell is a municipality in the district of Traunstein in Bavaria, Germany. It is known for the Eisstadion Inzell, an outdoor artificial ice rink that has been used for many international speed skating championships. It is now an indoor oval. Geography Inzell lies in a wide valley floor in the Chiemgau Alps, framed by the mountains of Rauschberg, Zinnkopf, Teisenberg and the massif of Staufen. ISU Speed Skating World Cup
The ISU Speed Skating World Cup is a series of international speed skating competitions, organised annually by the International Skating Union since the winter of 1985–86 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, 1985–86. Every year during the winter season, a number of competitions on different distances and on different locations are held. Skaters can earn points at each competition, and the skater who has the most points on a given distance at the end of the series is the winner. Initially not very popular with skaters nor spectators, the World Cup has gradually become more and more popular, and this was due to the creation of the World Single Distance Championships. The results of the separate distances in the World Cup ranking are the main qualifying method for the World Single Distance Championships. The 2011–12 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, officially the ''Essent ISU World Cup Speed Skating 2011–2012'', was a series of international speed skating competitions which ran the entire season. The season started on 18 November 2011 in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and ended on 11 March 2012 in Berlin, Germany. In total, seven competition weekends were held at six different locations, twelve cups were contested (six for men, and six for women), and 72 races took place.
