Espedal
Espedal is a valley and hamlet in the municipality of Fjaler in Vestland county, Norway. It is located about southwest of the municipal center of Dale, and about southwest of the village of Flekke. The area is owned by the Espedal family. Espedal is featured in the 2007 documentary film '' True Norwegian Black Metal'' which focused on some aspects of the life of black metal performer Kristian "Gaahl" Espedal. Espedal has been popularly mistaken for a village, a misconception perpetuated by the aforementioned documentary. Gaahl
Kristian Eivind Espedal (born 7 August 1975), better known by his stage name Gaahl, is a Norwegian vocalist and painter. He is best known as the former frontman of Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth. He is also the founder and lead vocalist of Trelldom and Gaahlskagg. Since leaving Gorgoroth, he has been involved with God Seed, Wardruna, and Gaahls Wyrd. He was the focus of the documentary '' True Norwegian Black Metal'' and also appeared in the film ''Flukt''. Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. Flekke
Flekke is a village in the municipality of Fjaler in Vestland, Norway. Flekke is located about south of the municipal center of Dale. The village is situated at the end of the Flekkefjorden, an arm of the Dalsfjorden. The village of Guddal lies about to the southeast in the valley of Guddalen. A few kilometers north of Flekke, lies the village of Haugland, while the bay continues south to Trollvika and a narrow strait into Flosjøen. UWC Red Cross Nordic is located next to the Haugland Rehabilitation Center, just north of Flekke.
