Andrew Ervin (1971) is an American writer whose debut 2010 novella collection ''Extraordinary Renditions'' (Coffee House Press) was selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the Best Books of 2010. His 2015 debut novel ''Burning Down George Orwell’s House'' (Soho Press) was listed as an Editor's Choice in the New York Times Book Review. He currently lives in Philadelphia. Tyler Anthony Ervin (born October 7, 1993) is a former American football running back and return specialist. He played college football at San Jose State. Early life Ervin was born in San Bernardino, California. He attended Colton High School, where he played high school football. College career A two-star recruit, Ervin attracted two offers from Idaho and San Jose State. On January 16, 2011, Ervin signed with San José State University. Ervin began playing for the San Jose State Spartans as a true freshman in 2011 at running back and return specialist. He became the first player to return a kickoff for a touchdown since 2005, when he returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown on November 12 against Utah State. Tom Ervin
Thomas Jonathan Ervin (born May 14, 1952) is an American attorney, former judge, one-time politician and former radio station owner. A past member of the Republican Party, he also served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1979 through 1983. He had been running for Governor of South Carolina in the 2014 gubernatorial election as an Independent, but in late October he dropped out and endorsed Democratic nominee Vincent Sheheen. Career Ervin graduated from Erskine College with a bachelor's degree in history, and then the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977. He was elected to serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing the seventh district, as a member of the Democratic Party. He served from 1979 through 1983. Samuel James Ervin III (March 2, 1926 – September 18, 1999) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the son of United States Senator Sam Ervin. Education and career Ervin was born in Morganton, North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science from Davidson College in 1948 and a Bachelor of Laws from Harvard Law School in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 and from 1951 to 1952. He was in private practice of law in Morganton from 1952 to 1967.
