Erren River
The Erren River () is a river in Taiwan. It flows through Tainan City and Kaohsiung City for 61 km. The river originates from the Neimen District in Kaohsiung City and flows through seven districts before it enters Taiwan Strait. The river has suffered from pollution, although the situation has improved. Taiwan Strait
The Taiwan Strait is a -wide strait separating the island of Taiwan and continental Asia. The strait is part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north. The narrowest part is wide. The Taiwan Strait is itself a subject of international dispute over its political status. As the People's Republic of China claims to enjoy "sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the Taiwan Strait" and regards the waterway as " internal territorial waters" instead of being international waters, this means that the Chinese government denies any foreign vessel having the freedom of navigation in the strait. Tainan City
Tainan (), officially Tainan City, is a special municipality in southern Taiwan facing the Taiwan Strait on its western coast. Tainan is the oldest city on the island and also commonly known as the "Capital City" for its over 200 years of history as the capital of Taiwan under Koxinga and later Qing rule. Neimen District
Neimen District () is a rural district of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan. Neimen is located in the mountainous area with very little flat land. Qishan River passes through the Neimen district. The whole district is under water reserve protection. The climate of Neimen belongs to the tropical monsoon climate. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Neimen was organized as a rural township of Kaohsiung County. District (Taiwan)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan)'s special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities of the second level and provincial city (Taiwan), provincial cities of the third level formerly under its Provinces of China, provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme.
