Ernsthausen (Rauschenberg)
Ernsthausen is a village ( ''Ortsteil'') of the municipality of Weilmünster in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse. It has around 600 inhabitants (2021). Geography The village is located in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse, north of Frankfurt am Main and close to Weilburg. As Ernsthausen was part of the former Oberlahnkreis until the creation of the district of Limburg-Weilburg in July 1974, it was also referred to as Ernsthausen (Oberlahnkreis). Charles August, Prince Of Nassau-Weilburg
Charles August; 17 September 1685, Weilburg – 9 November 1753) was from 1719 to 1753 Prince of Nassau-Weilburg. Charles August was the second son of John Ernst of Nassau-Weilburg and Maria Polyxena of Leiningen-Dagsburg-Hartenburg. In his youth, he worked as a diplomat for Saxony; for a while he was the Saxon ambassador in Paris. He succeeded his father as Prince in Weilburg on 27 February 1719. In 1733 and 1734, he commanded the imperial troops on the Rhine as an imperial cavalry general. In 1737 he assumed the title of Prince, which family had been awarded in 1688. In 1688 the family had not, however, obtained a seat on the princely bench in the Imperial Diet, and in protest, they had not used their title. In 1737, the seat in the diet was finally awarded and Charles August started using his princely title. Charles August died in 1753 and was buried in the chapel of Weilburg. Wolfenhausen
Wolfenhausen is a village ( ''Ortsteil'') of the municipality of Weilmünster in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse. It has around 1000 inhabitants (2021). Geography Wolfenhausen is located in the eastern Hintertaunus in the Taunus Nature Park, at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, approx. seven kilometres south-west of the core municipality of Weilmünster. The highest elevation in the district is the ''Rote Küppel'' at 378 metres. The Wolfenhauserbach stream flows through the village. Geography Rohnstadt is located in the eastern Hintertaunus, about three kilometers southwest of the Weilmünster core, embedded in a high hollow between the ''Hofwald'', '' Hühnerküppel'', ''Riesenkopf'' and ''Steinchen'' elevations in the Taunus Nature Park. Möttau
Möttau is a village ( ''Ortsteil'') of the municipality of Weilmünster in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse. It has around 300 inhabitants (2021). Geography Möttau is located in the eastern Hintertaunus, northeast of the core town of Weilmünster and directly on the district border with the Lahn-Dill district. The Möttbach rises in the village and flows on to Philippstein. In addition, the Iserbach, coming from Dietenhausen, flows into the Möttbach here. Lützendorf
Lützendorf is a village ( ''Ortsteil'') of the municipality of Weilmünster in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse. It has around 200 inhabitants (2021). History In surviving documents, Lützendorf was mentioned under the following place names (the year of mention in brackets): Luzelendorf (1234), Lutzillindorf (1292), Lutzelendorf (1320), Lutzilndorf (1330) and Lietzendorff (1630). The village was first mentioned in documents in 1234. The main part of the place was a farm that belonged to the monastery in Dietkirchen. In 1620 the Lords of Schwalbach and in 1690 the Lords of Grünstein were the feudal successors to the Knights of Essershausen. Aulenhausen
Aulenhausen is a village ( ''Ortsteil'') of the municipality of Weilmünster in the district of Limburg-Weilburg in central Hesse. It has around 240 inhabitants (2021).
