Ernst Weber (footballer)
Ernst Weber (16 December 1902 – 21 February 1991) was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel. He played mainly as defender, but also as midfielder. Weber joined Basel's first team in summer 1928. After two test games he played his team debut, playing as a midfielder on 2 September 1928 in the Swiss Cup match against FC Baden that Basel won 1–0. He played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game on 21 October 1928 as Basel won 2–1 against Concordia Basel playing as defender. In his last season with the club (1931–32) he only played two games and at the end of the season he retired from active football. A well-documented curiosity was that at the end of Basel's 1929–30 season, the team set off on a Scandinavian football tour, including a visit to Germany. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Centre-backs are usually positioned in pairs, with one full-back on either side to their left and right, but can be played in threes with or without full-backs. Porsgrunn
is a city and municipality in Telemark in the county of Vestfold og Telemark in Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Grenland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Porsgrunn. The municipality of Porsgrunn was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The town of Brevik and the rural district of Eidanger were merged into the municipality of Porsgrunn on 1 January 1964. Jules Düblin
Jules Düblin (30 August 1895 – 1992) was a Swiss footballer and athlete. He played for FC Basel, mainly as a forward. Later he was member of the FC Basel board of directors. He was doctor, banker and politician, became author and private art collector. Football career Between the years 1919 and 1926 Düblin played a total of 57 games for Basel scoring a total of 5 goals. 27 of these games were in the Swiss Serie A and 30 were friendly games. He scored four goals in the domestic league, the other was scored during the test games. Düblin was also member of the FC Basel board of directors. He presided the club during the period July 1946 until Mai 1959. Thus in the club's history he is the most permanent president that the club has had to date. As President of the club he joined the Swiss Football League (SFL) and was appointed honorary Member in 1965. Sportsklubben Brann (commonly known as Brann, and less often as SK Brann) is a Norwegian professional football club, founded 26 September 1908, from Bergen.
