Ernst-Marcus Thomas
Ernst-Marcus Thomas (born 23 March 1973) is a German actor, TV host, radio DJ and writer. From 2011 until 2021, he hosted The Afternoon Show on WDR 4 in Germany. For the past 20 years, Thomas has been a host for many live programs in Germany and Switzerland, including the national entertainment show, ZDF Fernsehgarten, and the daily cooking show, ARD Buffet, which aired on Germany's national TV channel, ARD. Thomas studied drama and psychology at the University of Munich and graduated with a Master of Arts. He also followed an education as a newspaper editor at Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, a major German daily newspaper. Through his company, Charismedia, Thomas coaches CEOs and top managers throughout Europe on public speaking. He's also a lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the ARD.ZDF Media-Academy. ''Marienhof'' is a German soap opera, first shown on 1 October 1992 on German TV channel, Das Erste. It started as a weekly series, before becoming a daily programme on 2 January 1995. The show was cancelled in February 2011 and aired its last episode on 15 June 2011. The show focuses on the everyday life of the residents of the ''Marienhof'', a fictional suburb in Cologne. Over the years, the show became known for tackling several social issues, such as homosexuality, homelessness, private bankruptcy, rape, drug abuse, AIDS, child abuse, suicide, cancer, adultery and murder. ''Die Kommissarin'' (German for "the inspectoress") is a German police TV series which aired on Das Erste. Its 66 episodes ran from 1994 till 2006. The series, which takes place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, is notable as being the first, and as one of the most successful, German police detective series with a female lead character (others include Bella Block and Rosa Roth). The main character is Inspector Lea Sommer, played by Hannelore Elsner. Sommer is divorced with custody of her teenage son, Daniel. ''Wege zum Glück'' (English: ''Ways to Happiness'') is a German telenovela. The show was starting on October 6, 2005 on ZDF and originally was planned to have 250 chapters. Later the concept was changed and the title became a label to tell different love stories in telenovela-style. After 789 chapters, the network decided to cancel the show.
