Ernest Urtasun
Ernest Urtasun i Domènech (born 27 January 1982) is a Spanish ecosocialist politician and economist. He serves as Member of the European Parliament since 2014, integrated within the Greens–European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) political group. Biography Born on 27 January 1982 in Barcelona, Urtasun joined , the youth wing of Initiative for Catalonia Greens (ICV), when he was 15 years old. He earned a licentiate degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), followed by a postgraduate degree in international relations from the University of Barcelona (UB). Initiative For Catalonia Greens
Initiative for Catalonia Greens ( ca, Iniciativa per Catalunya Verds, ICV; ) was an eco-socialist political party in Catalonia. It was formed as a merger of Iniciativa per Catalunya and Els Verds. IC had been an alliance led by Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya and was the equivalent of Izquierda Unida in Catalonia. IC later developed into a political party, and PSUC was dissolved. The youth of ICV was called ''Joves d'Esquerra Verda'' (Green Left Youth). It used to be called JambI, ''Joves amb Iniciativa'' (Youth with Initiative). Salvador Milà i Solsona is a former Minister of the Environment and Housing of the Catalan Government by the Iniciativa per Catalunya Verds (ICV) party. Education Milà was born in 1953. He studied Law at the Universitat de Barcelona (between 1970 and 1975). Since then, he has been working as a lawyer in Mataró, specializing in administrative, urban development and civil law. The 2014 European Parliament election in Spain was held on Sunday, 25 May 2014, as part of the EU-wide election to elect the 8th European Parliament. All 54 seats allocated to Spain as per the Treaty of Lisbon were up for election. The Workers' Commissions ( es, Comisiones Obreras, CCOO) since the 1970s has become the largest trade union in Spain.
