Erik Qvam
Erik Hafslo Qvam (12 September 1897 – 13 April 1979) was a Norwegian military officer and writer. He was born in Kristiania as a son of customs inspector Eystein Hafslo Qvam (1865–1943) and Ragna Kathrine Erichsen (1872–1951). He was married to Friede Løvenskiold (1902–1948), the brother of Herman L. Løvenskiold and a daughter of Herman Løvenskiold, from 1928 to her death. From 1952 he was married to Nanna Burckhardt. He enrolled as a student in 1916, and reached the rank of Premier Lieutenant in 1919 and Captain in 1935. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Egge, Nord-Trøndelag
Egge is a former municipality in what was Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1869 until 1964. It included the land just north of the town of Steinkjer in what is now the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county. The small municipality was south of the lake Snåsavatnet, west of the lake Fossemvatnet, and east of Beitstad. The main church for the municipality was Egge Church, just north of the town of Steinkjer. History The parish of Egge was established as a municipality on 1 January 1869 when it was separated from the large municipality of Stod. Initially, Egge had a population of 941. The Independent Norwegian Brigade Group in Germany ( no, Tysklandsbrigaden, 'the Germany Brigade') was a Norwegian expeditionary force stationed in the British zone of Allied-occupied Germany, from 1946 to 1953. The Defence Medal 1940–1945 () is the award rewarded to those military and civilian personnel who participated in the fight against the German invasion and occupation of Norway between 1940 and 1945. The Defence Medal 1940–1945 can be awarded both to Norwegian and foreign citizens. The medal may still be awarded due to the large number of participants in the defence of Norway during World War II and the difficulties tracking down all eligible recipients. The medal is in bronze. On the obverse is the coat of arms with the inscription . On the reverse is the royal flag, the flag and national flag. Above these a narrow circle with the inscription (Participant in the struggle). The image is surrounded by a chain. The band is in the Norwegian national colors. The band can be fitted with a rosette if the recipient has distinguished himself several times.
