Erik Carlsson Sjöblad
Erik Carlsson Sjöblad (August 28, 1647 – May 31, 1725) was a Swedish governor, admiral, and baron. Early years Sjöblad was born in Halmstad, Halland, Sweden. His father, a general, was Baron Carol Sjöblad Nilsson (1611–1696); his mother was Maria Eriksdotter Stierna (1614–1686). Sjoblad married Charlotta Regina Palbitski (born 1663) in 1681. They had three children, a son, Carl Georg Sjöblad, and two daughters, Ulrika Maria Eriksdotter Sjöblad (died 1758) and Charlotte Christina Sjöblad (died 1771) Career Sjöblad began his military career in 1664 at the age of 17, when he took a post in the English fleet. After nine years he returned to Sweden, now as captain. In the Swedish admiralty, he rose quickly in rank, and in 1676, he was appointed admiral, when only 29 years old. In 1677, he led his squadron against the Dano-Norwegian admiral Niels Juel. Blekinge (, old da, Bleking) is one of the traditional Swedish provinces (), situated in the southern coast of the geographic region of Götaland, in southern Sweden. Carl Georg Siöblad
Carl Georg Siöblad (2 November 1683 – 1 September 1754) was a Swedish naval officer who served as Governor of Malmöhus County and Blekinge County Biography He was born in Södermanland to Baron Erik Carlsson Sjöblad (1647-1725) and Charlotta Regina Palbitzki (1663-1738). He became a second lieutenant at the Admiralty in 1699, and was promoted to vice admiral in 1719. On 27 July 1720, against orders, he attacked a much larger Russian naval force. His force consisted of three ships, three frigates, and three merchant ships. In 1734, he was appointed governor of Blekinge County and in 1740 he became Governor of Malmö where he served till his death at Marsvinsholm Castle in 1754. Personal life He was married to Countess Beata Elisabeth Stenbock (1693-1765), daughter of Johanna Eleonora De la Gardie (1661-1708) and Count Erik Gustaf Stenbock. Ulrika Eleonora Of Sweden
Ulrika Eleonora or Ulrica Eleanor (23 January 1688 – 24 November 1741), known as Ulrika Eleonora the Younger, was Queen of Sweden, reigning in her own right from 5 December 1718 until her abdication on 29 February 1720 in favour of her husband King Frederick, and then as his consort until her death. She was the youngest child of King Charles XI and Ulrika Eleonora of Denmark and named after her mother. After the death of her brother King Charles XII in 1718, she claimed the throne. Her deceased older sister, Hedvig Sophia, had left a son, Charles Frederick of Holstein-Gottorp, who had the better claim by primogeniture. The Scanian War ( da, Skånske Krig, , sv, Skånska kriget, german: Schonischer Krieg) was a part of the Northern Wars involving the union of Denmark–Norway, Brandenburg and Sweden.
