Erie City School District
The Erie City School District is the school district that serves Erie, Pennsylvania in the United States. It is a member of the Northwest Tri-County IU 5. Serving the Erie School District are two high schools, three middle schools, and ten elementary schools. On April 19, 2007, GE Transportation presented the district with a $15 million donation, which was reportedly the largest ever donation to education in Pennsylvania. In 2014 Erie school district teacher salaries were published and determined to be up to 40 percent higher than the average household in Erie pa. As of August, 2017, student enrollment for the district's 15 schools was 11,265. Erie High School is a high school in Erie, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Formerly called Central Tech High School, it was renamed in 2017 after the Erie City School District converted two of the other high schools, Strong Vincent High School and East High School, into middle schools. The first Erie High School opened in 1866, before being renamed Central High School in 1920. Erie High School celebrated its first graduating class in 2018, about 400 out of a total of 2,278 students. Shooting On April 5, 2022, shortly after 9:20 am, a shooting occurred in the school. Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy
The Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy (abbreviated NPCA), or just Collegiate Academy or Academy High School, is located in midtown Erie, Pennsylvania. The school is housed in the former Academy High School building, which reopened in September 1992 as Collegiate Academy. The school boasts a 100% college acceptance rate among recent graduates.
