Erich Linemayr (24 January 1933 in Linz – 4 June 2016) was an Austrian football referee. He is known for having refereed three matches in the FIFA World Cup, two in 1974 and one in 1978. Charles Corver
Charles George Reinier Corver (16 January 1936 – 10 November 2020) was a Dutch football referee. Career He was decorated twice by the Queen (Order of Orange-Nassau) and the football association (KNVB-UEFA-FIFA). He refereed the 1982 World Cup semifinal between Germany and France in Seville, Spain, when he deemed goalkeeper Harald Schumacher's collision with Patrick Battiston to be not a foul. Battiston remained unconscious for over a minute and sustained the loss of 3 teeth and a damaged vertebrae. Corver was referee at two World Cups and two European championships. He refereed four European Cup finals, ten semifinals and a final World Cup for clubs in Argentina. More than 140 international matches and more than 600 national matches. The 1979 European Cup Final was a football match held at the Olympiastadion, Munich, on 30 May 1979. Trevor Francis scored the only goal of the match, as Nottingham Forest of England defeated Malmö FF of Sweden 1–0 to become European champions for the first time in club history. The win represented a third successive victory for an English side in the European Cup, after Liverpool's victories in 1977 and 1978. Background The competition had provided many great stories and had thrown up a final that no-one could have predicted when it had started the previous August. António Garrido (referee)
António José da Silva Garrido OIH (3 December 1932 – 10 September 2014) was a Portuguese football referee. Career Born in Vieira de Leiria, Marinha Grande, Garrido was the first Portuguese referee to officiate a European Cup final in 1980. He refereed three matches in the FIFA World Cup, two in the 1978 and one in the 1982 – the 3rd place play-off match. He also refereed one match in the UEFA Euro 1980 and the first leg of 1977 European Super Cup. On 3 August 1983, Garrido received the title of Officer of the Order of Prince Henry. Although he was an accountant by profession, he continued involved in football after his forced retirement as a referee in 1982 due to age limit. He then had several positions, becoming member of the FPF's Refereeing Board (for 4 years), FIFA referee instructor, UEFA observer, and referees commissioner in World Cups (for 20 years). The 1980 European Cup Final was a football match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain on 28 May 1980, to determine the winner of the 1979–80 European Cup. The final saw defending champions Nottingham Forest of England defeat Hamburg of West Germany by a score of 1–0. In the 21st minute, John Robertson squeezed a shot past Hamburg keeper Rudi Kargus for the only goal of the game, and Forest then defended solidly, to give Nottingham Forest back-to-back European Cup titles. 1978 European Cup Final
The 1978 European Cup Final was an association football match between Liverpool of England and Club Brugge of Belgium on 10 May 1978 at Wembley Stadium, London, England (the venue was decided in Bern by the UEFA Executive Committee on 20 September 1977). It was the final match of the 1977–78 season of Europe's premier cup competition, the European Cup. Liverpool were the reigning champions and were appearing in their second European Cup final. Club Brugge were appearing in their first European Cup final. The two sides had met once before in European competition, when they contested the 1976 UEFA Cup Final, which Liverpool won 4–3 on aggregate.
