Eric Pascoe
Eric Pascoe (born 8 October 1953) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. The ruckman from Bendigo was an understudy to John Nicholls and Peter Jones at Carlton and made his early VFL appearances when one of them was injured. He was Carlton's reserves 'Best and Fairest' winner in 1973. Nicholls retired in 1974 but by then ruckman Mike Fitzpatrick had been recruited from the West Australian Football League and Pascoe continued to play most of his football in the reserves. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. John Nicholls (footballer)
John Robert Nicholls (born 13 August 1939) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Widely regarded as one of Australian football's greatest players, Nicholls was the first Carlton player to play 300 games for the club, and was declared the club's greatest player. He represented Victoria a record 31 times in interstate football, and was inducted as one of the inaugural Legends when the Australian Football Hall of Fame was established in 1996. Nicholls played most of his football as a ruckman, and although at 189 centimetres he was not especially tall, he compensated his lack of height with his intelligence and imposing physical presence, which earned him the nickname 'Big Nick'. Peter Kevin "Percy" Jones (born 20 October 1946) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Mike Fitzpatrick (footballer)
Michael Clifford Fitzpatrick (born 28 January 1953) is an Australian businessman, sporting administrator and former professional Australian rules football player. He was chairman of the AFL Commission (football's governing body) from 2007 to 2017. Fitzpatrick was raised in Perth and began his football career with in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). A ruckman, he played 97 games for the club between 1970 and 1974, playing in a premiership team in 1973 and winning the club's best and fairest award in his last two seasons. Fitzpatrick transferred to the Victorian Football League (VFL) for the 1975 season and represented until his retirement at the end of the 1983 season.
