Erdem Gül
Erdem Gül (born 1967 in Giresun) is a Turkish politician serving as the current Mayor of Princes' Islands since 2019. He was the chief of the Ankara bureau of Turkish secularist newspaper '' Cumhuriyet'' between 2010 and 2018. He was arrested in November 2015 after his newspaper published footage showing the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey (MİT) sending weapons to Syrian Islamist fighters. Gül studied journalism at Gazi University. He started his career at the ANKA news agency in 1992, where he monitored the rise of Necmettin Erbakan's Millî Görüş movement since the 1994 local elections, where Erbakan's Welfare Party won the mayorship in both Ankara and Istanbul. In 2010, he became parliament reporter for '' Cumhuriyet''. In November 2015, ''Cumhuriyet'' was awarded the 2015 Reporters Without Borders Prize for its "independent and courageous journalism." Giresun
Giresun (), formerly Cerasus (Ancient Greek: Κερασοῦς, Greek: Κερασούντα), is the provincial capital of Giresun Province in the Black Sea Region of northeastern Turkey, about west of the city of Trabzon. Etymology Giresun was known to the ancient Greeks as ''Choerades'' or more prominently as Kerasous or Cerasus ( grc, Κερασοῦς), the origin of the modern name. The name Kerasous corresponds to κερασός (kerasós) " cherry" + -ουντ (a place marker). Can Dündar (, born 16 June 1961) is a Turkish journalist, columnist and documentarian. Editor-in-chief of center-left ''Cumhuriyet'' newspaper until August 2016, he was arrested in November 2015 after his newspaper published footage showing the State Intelligence MİT sending weapons to Syrian Islamist fighters. One of the "best known" figures in Turkish media, Dündar has written for several newspapers, produced many television programs for state-owned TRT and various private channels including CNN Türk and NTV, and published more than 20 books. Dündar is the recipient of the International Press Freedom Award by the Committee to Protect Journalists. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. 2019 Turkish Local Elections
The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood wardens ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils.
