The team jumping event, part of the equestrian program at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held on 28 September 2000 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre 45 miles outside of Sydney, Australia. Markus Fuchs (equestrian)
Markus Fuchs (born 23 June 1955 in Abtwil, Switzerland) is a Swiss show jumper who competed at five Olympics between 1988 and 2004. He was part of the Swiss team that won silver at the 2000 Olympics. He is, jointly with shooter Gabriele Bühlmann, the seventh Swiss sportsperson to compete at five Olympics, after middle-distance runner Paul Martin, equestrians Henri Chammartin and Gustav Fischer, javelin thrower Urs von Wartburg, equestrian Christine Stückelberger, and Alpine skier Paul Accola. At the European Show Jumping Championships, he came second in the individual event in 1999 on Tinka's Boy. He was also part of the Swiss teams that won gold in 1995, silver in 1999 and 2005, and bronze in 1987, 1989, 1991, and 2003. Fuchs announced his retirement from competition on 6 June 2009. Calvaro V
Calvaro V (1986 – 1 October 2003) was a grey Holsteiner gelding sired in 1986. Wilhelm "Willi" Melliger (26 July 1953 – 16 January 2018) was a Swiss equestrian and Olympic medalist. With his horse Calvaro V, he won two Olympic silver medals: the first in show jumping at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the second as part of team jumping at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Ludger Beerbaum (, ; born 26 August 1963 in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia) is an internationally successful German equestrian who competes in show jumping and has been ranked the No. 1 Show Jumper in the world by the FEI on multiple occasions. He is also a four-time Olympic Gold medalist team and individual. Early life and competitive career Beerbaum was born in Detmold, Germany. In school, he took Business Studies, but eventually gave it up for a career in show jumping. Beerbaum began riding on a Highland Pony at the age of 8. He had a very successful career as a young Rider which continued into his adulthood. His most notable accomplishments include winning 4 Olympic Golds (his first at age 25) and numerous European and World Championship medals.
