Sydney International Equestrian Centre
The Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC for short) is the facility which was used to host equestrian events during the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2000 Summer Paralympics. The centre is located 45 kilometres from Sydney's business district and the harbour at Saxony Road, Horsley Park. Construction began in 1997, was finished in 1999 and it successfully hosted Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events in 2000. Arjen Gerald Teeuwissen (born March 29, 1971) is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal in the Team Dressage event at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He did so alongside Anky van Grunsven, Ellen Bontje, and Coby van Baalen. Ian Stark
Ian David Stark, OBE (born 22 February 1954) is a retired Scottish equestrian who competed in the sport of eventing. Stark was born in Galashiels in the Borders in 1954 and began riding horses at the age of 10. Stark was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in March 2010. Career In 1984 Stark won a silver medal for eventing in the Olympic Games, which were held in Los Angeles. In 2000 Stark won a silver team medal for eventing in the Olympic Games held in Sydney, Australia. Matthew Morgan "Matt" Ryan, OAM (born 3 June 1964 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Olympic-level equestrian rider. He is a triple Olympic gold medalist who competed for Australia. Matt has three older brothers, including the internationally successful eventer and dressage rider, Heath Ryan. In 1984. he travelled to Britain to train with the great Richard Meade, before returning home the following year, and then went back to the UK in 1989 to set up a stable. He has won three Olympic gold medals, two at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and one at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Stuart Tinney
Stuart Brian Tinney, OAM (born 7 December 1964 in Mundubbera) is an Olympic-level equestrian rider, who competes for Australia. He won a team gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics, a team bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and also competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Tinney competed at four World Equestrian Games (in 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014). He finished 4th in the team eventing competition at the 2002 World Games. Phillip Peter Dutton, OAM (born 13 September 1963) is an Australian-born Olympic-level equestrian rider competing in eventing for the United States of America. He is a dual Olympic gold medalist who formerly competed for his country of birth but now competes for the USA. Biography Dutton was born in Nyngan and was educated at Newington College (1976–1979). He pursued his passion for riding in Australia until 1991 when he moved to the United States to train in a more internationally competitive environment. David John O'Connor (born January 18, 1962) is a retired equestrian who represented the United States in the sport of three-day eventing. He competed in two Olympic Games, winning a team silver at the 1996 Summer Olympics and an individual gold and team bronze at the 2000 Summer Olympics. At the 1999 Pan American Games, O'Connor took an individual silver and team gold and at the 2002 World Equestrian Games he assisted the US team to gold.
