Epping Upland
Epping Upland is a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England.Hagger, Nicholas; ''A View of Epping Forest'', O Books (2012), p. 29. The village is situated on the B181 road, approximately south of the town of Harlow, and north-west of the town of Epping and the M11 motorway. Epping Upland parish church is dedicated to All Saints, with the Epping Upland ecclesiastical parish part of the Diocese of Chelmsford. The church dates to the 13th century and is Grade II* listed. Until the Dissolution of the Monasteries, All Saints was under the jurisdiction of Waltham Abbey. In the first half of the 19th century part of today's town of Epping was within the civil parish of Epping Upland and was part of the ecclesiastical parish centred on All Saints'. Epping Forest is a local government district in Essex, England. Situated in the west of the county, bordering northeastern Greater London, it is named after, and contains a large part of, Epping Forest. The district, though wholly within the county of Essex, is partly contiguous with Greater London to the south and southwest, and the area around Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell, Waltham Abbey and Loughton is statistically part of the Greater London Built-up Area and forms part of the Ilford (IG) postcode area (except for Waltham Abbey, which forms part of the Enfield (EN) postcode area and Sewardstone, which forms part of the Eastern (E) postcode area). Epping Green, Essex
Epping Green is a village in the civil parish of Epping Upland and Epping Forest district of Essex, England, situated on the B181 road between Epping and Harlow. The parish of Epping Upland, which stretches from the Wake Arms public house near Upshire at the south to the outskirts of Harlow at the north, takes in part of Thornwood Common at the east, and the hamlet of Rye Hill. Epping Green lies mainly within Epping Forest land although most farmland is owned by Copped Hall Estates and leased to the local farmers.
