Eppendorf, Hamburg
Eppendorf is one of thirteen quarters in the Hamburg-Nord borough of Hamburg, Germany, and lies north of the Außenalster. In 2020 the population was 24,806. History Eppendorf, first mentioned as ''Eppenthorp'' in 1140, is Hamburg's oldest village. Its name originates either from the old Germanic ''epen'' (on the water) or from the personal name Ebbo/Eppo. It is possible, but unlikely, that it was named after Ebbo, the archbishop of Reims. During the restoration of the St. Johannis Church, which was first mentioned in 1267, ruins of an older stone tower were found. In the 19th century, Eppendorf gained popularity among the affluent people in Hamburg. The low-lying, moist land was banked up and built on. The last area of moorland, the Eppendorfer Moor, was placed under nature protection in 1982. In 1894, Eppendorf was transferred to Hamburg. Hamburg-Nord (meaning ''Hamburg North'') is one of the seven boroughs of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, in northern Germany. In 2020, according to the residents registration office, the population was 315,514 in an area of 57.5 km2. Free Democratic Party (Germany)

Karl Dall
Karl Bernhard Dall (, 1 February 1941 – 23 November 2020) was a German comedian, singer, and television presenter. His distinctive 'hanging' eye was caused by a congenital ptosis. Family Karl Dall was born in Emden, Germany, the son of a school rector and a teacher. He married his wife Barbara in 1971. They had one daughter, Janina, who works as a stuntwoman in Canada. Karl Dall had two sisters and a brother. He lived in Hamburg-Eppendorf. The Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was the 51st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Texas Lightning (band)
Texas Lightning is a German quintet from Hamburg which fits in the country music genre and describes itself as old fashioned and hip. Their music is a mix of country and pop drawing from country classic stars like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette and pop stars such as ABBA, Nancy Sinatra, Linda Ronstadt, Madonna, Michael Jackson and the Beatles, performed with some country humour. Beginner (formerly Absolute Beginner) is a German rap group from Hamburg, consisting of Jan Delay (aka Eizi Eiz/Eißfeldt), Denyo and DJ Mad. Their fourth album, ''Advanced Chemistry'', was released in August 2016. Band history The group was founded as Absolute Beginner in 1991, initially with six members: Jan Delay, Denyo, Mardin, DJ Burn, Nabil, Mirko, but the latter three dropped out after a few months. Jan Phillip Eißfeldt (born 25 August 1976), known professionally as Jan Delay, is a German rapper and singer whose stylistic range includes mainly hip hop, reggae, dub and funk. Wolfgang Borchert (; 20 May 1921 – 20 November 1947) was a German author and playwright whose work was strongly influenced by his experience of dictatorship and his service in the ''Wehrmacht'' during the Second World War. The Gymnasium Eppendorf is a grammar school in Hamburg, Germany, established in 1904. History The school was established in 1904 as a school for boys, Realschule in Eppendorf, in new buildings erected on the corner of Hegestraße and Hegestieg. Seven years later, it was renamed Oberrealschule Eppendorf, and in 1938 it was renamed Oberschule für Jungen in Eppendorf, and in 1957 Gymnasium für Jungen in Eppendorf.
