Epic Battles
''Epic Battles'' is an out-of-print collectible card game produced by Score Entertainment that was released in September 2005. Gameplay attempts to emulate a traditional fighting game experience and features characters and attacks from several different franchises. There are four separate sets of cards available that feature characters from ''Mortal Kombat'', ''Street Fighter'', and ''Tekken'', plus an unreleased '' Darkstalkers'' set. Gameplay Gameplay is divided into turns of five steps. Unlike most collectible card games, players may take any action on any turn. The goal of the game is to "damage" an opponent with attacks, forcing them to discard cards from their deck. When a player runs out of cards, they lose the game. Each turn begins with both players drawing three cards. Next, both players set any events they have drawn face down on the table. Score Entertainment was a trading card design and manufacturing company based in Arlington, Texas. Their first card game was the Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game in 2000. Score Entertainment was a member of the Donruss Playoff LP family of companies. Donruss Playoff LP was bought out in early 2009 by Panini America and Score Entertainment was closed down. Trading cards and games As with several other companies in the trading card and collectible card game industries, Score Entertainment licensed popular intellectual properties for their games and trading cards. These are drawn from a variety of television programs, animated series, and video games. Ashrah
This is a list of playable and boss characters from the ''Mortal Kombat'' fighting game franchise and the games in which they appear. Created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, the series depicts conflicts between various realms. Most characters fight on behalf of their realm, with the primary heroes defending Earthrealm against conquering villains from Outworld and the Netherrealm. Early installments feature the characters participating in the eponymous Mortal Kombat tournament to decide their realm's fate. In later installments, Earthrealm is often invaded by force. A total of 77 playable fighters have been featured in the series, in addition to unplayable bosses and guest characters. Much of the franchise's mainstays were introduced during the first three games. Nearly all of the characters have been killed at a point in the story, but have rarely stayed dead.
