Epic45
epic45 are a British indie/ post-rock band. Core members Rob Glover and Benjamin Holton who grew up in Wheaton Aston, Staffordshire, formed the band in 1995 when the two school friends were only 13 years old. The band have released albums across various labels including Where Are My Records, Make Mine Music and their own Wayside and Woodland Recordings label. Side projects Holton has released three albums under the name My Autumn Empire My Autumn Empire is the solo work of Staffordshire based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter; Benjamin Holton of epic45, the project was started in 2007 after a limited run of releases were collected and distributed. Independent music (also commonly known as indie music or simply indie) is music that is produced independently from commercial record labels or their subsidiaries, a process that may include an autonomous, do-it-yourself approach to recording and publishing. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. However, due to its abandonment of rock conventions, it often bears little resemblance musically to contemporary indie rock, borrowing instead from diverse sources including ambient, electronica, jazz, krautrock, dub, and minimalist classical. My Autumn Empire
My Autumn Empire is the solo work of Staffordshire based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter; Benjamin Holton of epic45, the project was started in 2007 after a limited run of releases were collected and distributed. To date My Autumn Empire has released four full studio albums; ''The Village Compass'' (2010) and ''II'' (2012) (pronounced "two"), ''The Visitation'' (2013) and ''Dreams of Death and Other Favourites'' (2015) through Wayside & Woodland recordings. ''The Village Compass'', My Autumn Empire's first official release began life as indie-electronica remnants that were originally intended for use on epic45's album ''May Your Heart Be The Map''. Charles Vaughn (musician)
Charles "Chico" Vaughn (February 19, 1940 – October 25, 2013) was an American basketball player. At 6'2", he played the guard position. Vaughn is the highest scorer in Illinois high school boys basketball, tallying 3,358 points during his career at Egyptian High School in Tamms, Illinois (1954–1958). He was born in nearby Hodges Park, Illinois, then moved with his family to Portland, Oregon before returning to Tamms at age 7. Vaughn also is the all-time leading scorer for Southern Illinois, where he scored 2,088 points for the Salukis and had his uniform number (20) retired by the school. He had an unorthodox behind the head release that made his shot difficult to block. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. History ''DiS'' began as an email fanzine in 1998 called ''The Last Resort'' but was relaunched by founder and editor Sean Adams as ''Drowned in Sound'' in 2000. The freelance writing team is currently spread across four continents – North America, Asia, Europe and Australasia. Wheaton Aston
Wheaton Aston is a small village in Staffordshire, England about 9 miles south west of Stafford and 7 miles west of Cannock. It is located beside Bridge 19 of the Shropshire Union Canal. The civil parish is called Lapley, Stretton and Wheaton Aston. It has a population of several thousand according to the latest British Survey. It has good transport links making it an ideal commuter village to the large cities of the English Midlands. ''Stylus Magazine'' was an American online music and film magazine, launched in 2002 and co-founded by Todd L. Burns. It featured long-form music journalism, four daily music reviews, movie reviews, podcasts, an MP3 blog, and a text blog. Additionally, ''Stylus'' had daily features like "The Singles Jukebox", which looked at pop singles from around the globe, and "Soulseeking", a column focused on personal responses in listening.
