Enigma (German Band)
Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. Cretu had released several solo records, collaborating with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra (singer), Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a New-age music, new-age, worldbeat project. He recorded the first Enigma studio album, ''MCMXC a.D.'' (1990), with contributions from David Fairstein and Frank Peterson. The album remains Enigma's most successful, helped by the international hit single "Sadeness (Part I)", which sold 12 million units alone. According to Cretu, the inspiration for the project came from his desire to make a kind of music that did not obey "the old rules and habits" and presented a new form of artistic expression with a return to mysticism. Worldbeat
Worldbeat is a music genre that blends pop music or rock music with world music or traditional music. Worldbeat is similar to other cross-pollination labels of contemporary and roots genres, and which suggest a rhythmic, harmonic or textural contrast and synthesis between its modern and ethnic elements. Definition Worldbeat is akin to world fusion and global fusion, each of which primarily manifest as a blend of non-Western music tradition and Western, popular music. These particular music genres can also reflect in a cross-blend of more than one "traditional" flavor, producing innovative, hybrid expressions of world music. Anggun
Anggun Cipta Sasmi (; (born 29 April 1974), known mononymously as Anggun, is an Indonesian-French singer, songwriter, and television personality. Born in Jakarta, she began performing at the age of seven and recorded a children's album two years later. She rose to fame in 1989 as a teenage rock star and by 1993 she had released five Indonesian-language studio albums and a soundtrack album to the Indonesian film ''Si Roy'' (1989). The Andromeda–Milky Way collision is a galactic collision that may occur in about 4.5 billion years between the two largest galaxies in the Local Group—the Milky Way (which contains the Solar System and Earth) and the Andromeda Galaxy. ''Voyageur'' is the fifth studio album by the German musical project Enigma, released on 8 September 2003 by Virgin Records. ''Voyageur'' was considered to be Enigma's most distinctive album to date, due to Enigma's drastic changes in sound as compared to the previous four albums. The project's signature ''shakuhachi'' flutes, Gregorian chants and tribal chants found on the earlier albums were all but gone on ''Voyageur''. Instead, most of the songs found on the album were more pop-oriented, such as " Voyageur", "Incognito", " Boum-Boum" and "Look of Today"; the latter of which interpolates the chorus of ABC's " The Look of Love".
