English Cricket Team In The West Indies In 1912–13
The seventh team of English cricketers toured the West Indies in the 1912–13 season. The tour was organised by MCC. As in 1910–11, the team was captained by AWF Somerset. The tour involved a total of 9 matches, all of which are regarded as first-class, between January and March 1913. RMS Magdalena 1889
RMS ''Magdalena'' was a British steamship that was built in 1889 as a Royal Mail Ship and ocean liner for the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company. In the First World War she served as the troop ship HMT ''Magdalena''. After a long and successful civilian and military career she was scrapped in 1923. Building In the 1880s RMSP introduced a series of larger new ships to improve its scheduled services between Southampton, South America and the Caribbean. The first was the , built by Caird and Company and launched in 1886. She was RMSP's first new ship to have a hull of steel rather than iron. ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack'', or simply ''Wisden'', colloquially the Bible of Cricket, is a cricket reference book published annually in the United Kingdom. The description "bible of cricket" was first used in the 1930s by Alec Waugh in a review for the ''London Mercury''. In October 2013, an all-time Test World XI was announced to mark the 150th anniversary of ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack''. In 1998, an Australian edition of ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack'' was launched. It ran for eight editions. Edwin Moulder
Edwin Moulder (9 October 1873 – 21 November 1942) was a Guyanese cricketer. He played in sixteen first-class matches for British Guiana from 1901 to 1913. He was born in Friendship Village, East Coast Demerara. His father was a former vicar. After attending attended Queens College, he won the Guiana Scholarship in 1891, going on to read Modern History at New College School and Merton College, Oxford earning his BA (Hons) in 1896 and his MA in 1908. Moulder began teaching in 1899 in Kent, Winchester then Barbados until he was appointed Assistant Master at Queen's College in 1901. He also served as Inspector of Schools, Director of Primary Education, Examiner to the Education Department and as Censor in the First World War. He was appointed Principal of Queen's College in 1920 and retired in 1929. He died in Barbados. Harry Ince
Harry Wakefield Ince (9 April 1893 - 11 May 1978) was a Barbadian cricketer who represented West Indies in matches before they attained Test match status. Education Ince attended Harrison College in Bridgetown, Barbados, from which many prominent batsmen emerged in this period. Career Ince first played for Barbados in 1913 against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club; he scored 56 on his first-class debut and 57 not out in his second game. Shortly afterwards, he was chosen to play for a representative West Indies team against the MCC and scored 167, his first century in first-class cricket. After the First World War, Ince continued to represent Barbados, scoring centuries in 1920 and 1922, and he was subsequently selected to tour England with the West Indies team in 1923. British Guiana was a British colony, part of the mainland British West Indies, which resides on the northern coast of South America. Since 1966 it has been known as the independent nation of Guyana. The first European to encounter Guiana was Sir Walter Raleigh, an English explorer.
