Endre Fejes
Endre Fejes (15 September 1923 – 25 August 2015) was a Kossuth Prize and Attila József Prize-winning Hungarian author, and a founding member of the Digital Literary Academy, with his literary works often based on working life. Literary career In 1955 he began to publish his stories, in particular, the Budapest working life. The first novel, ''A hazudós'', was published in 1958. His most notable novel, ''Rozsdatemető'', was a best seller in its publication in 1962. Józsefváros
Józsefváros (german: Josefstadt) is the 8th district of Budapest, Hungary. It is the part of the city centre in the wider sense as one of the 18–19th century older suburbs, close to Belváros. Location The main streets in Józsefváros are Baross utca, Rákóczi út and Üllői út; Kálvin tér connects this district with the 5th and 9th. Keleti (Eastern) Railway Station is located at the junction of 7th, 8th and 14th districts. Name The 18th century suburb was first called ''Alsó-Külváros'' (literally "Lower Suburb"). It was named after the heir of the Hungarian throne, Emperor Joseph II in 1777. Description Józsefváros mostly consists of old, often neglected residential buildings with nice interiors. Kossuth Prize
The Kossuth Prize ( hu, Kossuth-díj) is a state-sponsored award in Hungary, named after the Hungarian politician and revolutionist Lajos Kossuth. The Prize was established in 1948 (on occasion of the centenary of the March 15th revolution, the day on which it is still handed over every year) by the Hungarian National Assembly, to acknowledge outstanding personal and group achievements in the fields of science, culture and the arts, as well as in the building of socialism in general. In 1950s the award was given to Gabor Bela Fodor for his contributions in the field of Chemistry as the prize was given to selected scientists. Since 1963, the domain was restricted to culture and the arts. Today, it is regarded as the most prestigious cultural award in Hungary, and is awarded by the President.
