"En Rouge et Noir" is a 1986 French single recorded by Jeanne Mas, from her album '' Femmes d'aujourd'hui''. It achieved a great success in France, topping the chart during 1986 summer. Jeanne Mas is a French pop singer. She is well known in France, Switzerland, Canada and Belgium for a number of hit singles released in the 1980s. Her first success was "Toute première fois" in 1984. This song was simultaneously released in the United Kingdom in English. Two of her singles charted at number one in France: " Johnny, Johnny" and " En rouge et noir" in 1985 and 1986, respectively. Her 1980's albums are good examples of the Euro disco electropop style popular in Continental Europe at the time, featuring synthesizers and very catchy melodies. Liane Foly (born 16 December 1962, in Lyon) is a popular French blues and jazz singer, actress, presenter and impressionist. Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Starting in the 1940s polyvinyl chloride became common, hence the name vinyl. The phonograph record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. It had co-existed with the phonograph cylinder from the late 1880s and had effectively superseded it by around 1912. Records retained the largest market share even when new formats such as the compact cassette were mass-marketed. Gérard Jugnot (; born 4 May 1951) is a French actor, film director, screenwriter and film producer. Jugnot was one of the founders of the comedy ''troupe'' Le Splendid in the 1970s, along with, among others, his high-school friends Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, and Michel Blanc. Then Josiane Balasko and Marie-Anne Chazel joined them. The group adapted a number of its stage hits for the cinema and was extremely successful in films such as ''Les Bronzés'' (1978), ''Les Bronzés font du ski'' (1979) and ''Le Père Noël est une ordure'' (1982). ''Femmes d'aujourd'hui'' is the second studio album by Jeanne Mas, released in April 1986 by Pathé Marconi. Music for 8 of the 10 tracks was written by Romano Musumarra. The French singer Daniel Balavoine also participated in the production of the album (including "Cœur en stéréo"). Charting from 3 May 1986, it peaked at #1 for two months on the French Albums Chart and spent 63 weeks in the top 30, most of them in the top ten.
