Gérard Jugnot
Gérard Jugnot (; born 4 May 1951) is a French actor, film director, screenwriter and film producer. Jugnot was one of the founders of the comedy ''troupe'' Le Splendid in the 1970s, along with, among others, his high-school friends Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, and Michel Blanc. Then Josiane Balasko and Marie-Anne Chazel joined them. The group adapted a number of its stage hits for the cinema and was extremely successful in films such as ''Les Bronzés'' (1978), ''Les Bronzés font du ski'' (1979) and ''Le Père Noël est une ordure'' (1982). Jugnot gained international fame for his lead role in ''Les choristes, Les Choristes'' in which he played Clément Mathieu. The last movie he directed was (2017). Le Splendid
Le Splendid is a café-théâtre company founded in Paris by a collection of writers and actors in the 1970s: Christian Clavier, Michel Blanc, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte (four childhood friends who knew one another from the Lycée Pasteur (Neuilly-sur-Seine), Lycée Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine), Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Bruno Moynot and Claire Magnin. The members of the company went on to become some of the most significant actors and directors in French cinema from the 1980s onwards and have collectively won many César Awards. Anémone, Dominique Lavanant and Martin Lamotte have often worked with the troupe on stage and in films, but are not part of the collective. The café-théâtre was located in the Rue des Lombards in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. ''Going Places'' is a 1974 French comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Bertrand Blier, and based on his own novel with the same title. Its original title is ''Les Valseuses'', which translates into English as "the waltzers", a vulgar French slang term for "the testicles". Jean Dutourd
Jean Gwenaël Dutourd (; 14 January 192017 January 2011) was a French novelist. Biography Dutourd was born in Paris. His mother died when he was seven years old. At the age of twenty, he was taken prisoner fifteen days after Germany's invasion of France in World War II. He escaped six weeks later and returned to Paris where he studied philosophy at the Sorbonne. He entered the Resistance and was again arrested in early 1944. He escaped and took part in the Liberation of Paris. He was a candidate for the Democratic Union of Labour (UDT) in the legislative elections of 1967. His first work, ''Le Complexe de César'', appeared in 1946 and received the Prix Stendhal. He was elected to the Académie française on 30 November 1978. In 1997 he was elected as a member of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the Department of Language and Literature. Dutourd died in Paris on 17 January 2011, at the age of 91. Jacques Martin (; 22 June 1933 – 14 September 2007) was a French television host and producer. Life and career Martin was born in Lyon. In the late 1960s, he formed a comical duet of hosts on radio Europe 1 with French actor Jean Yanne. In the early 1970s, he was the sidekick of Danièle Gilbert, the host of ''Midi Première''.
