Emmaboda
Emmaboda () is a locality and the seat of Emmaboda Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden. It had 4,824 inhabitants in 2010. History Until 1875, Emmaboda was called Gantesbo. Back then there were only two houses in Gantesbo, which both remain to this day. The houses are called Gantesbo A and Gantesbo B. One of the houses is located on Bökön located west of Emmaboda's sports ground. The second stands on a hill between Emmaboda parish hall and the Bjurbäck school. In 1874, Emmaboda railway station was established for the Coast-to-Coast Line (''Kust till kust-banan'') and in 1875 Karlskrona-Växjö railway was connected to the station in Emmaboda. Emmaboda Municipality
Emmaboda Municipality (''Emmaboda kommun'') is a municipality in Kalmar County, in south-eastern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Emmaboda. The present municipality was formed in 1971, when the market town (''köping'') of Emmaboda (itself instituted in 1930) was amalgamated with three surrounding rural municipalities. Geography The municipality borders to the municipalities of Nybro, Kalmar and Torsås in Kalmar County; to Karlskrona and Ronneby in Blekinge County; and Tingsryd and Lessebo in Kronoberg County. The nearest cities in its vicinity are Kalmar (pop. 35,170), Karlskrona (pop. 32,606), Växjö (pop. 55,600), and Nybro (pop. 12,598). Coast-to-Coast Line
The Coast-to-Coast Line ( sv, Kust till kust-banan) is a long Y-shaped electric railway line between Gothenburg via Emmaboda to Kalmar and Karlskrona in southern Sweden. History The line was built as five different railways: from Gothenburg to Borås, from Borås to Alvesta, from Växjö to Alvesta, from Karlskrona to Växjö and the Kalmar Line. The lines were nationalized in 1940 and 1941 and operations taken over by the Swedish State Railways. By then, the section from Gothenburg to Borås had been electrified. The remaining sections were electrified between 1954 and 1962: from Alvesta to Växjö in 1953, from Växjö to Kalmar in 1954 and from Borås to Alvesta in 1962. SJ T41 locomotives were the most common during the diesel era, and replaced by SJ D and SJ Da locomotives after electrification. Kalmar County
Kalmar County () is a county or '' län'' in southern Sweden. It borders the counties of Kronoberg, Jönköping, Blekinge and Östergötland. To the east in the Baltic Sea is the island Gotland. Henri Mikael Hurskainen (born 13 September 1986) is a Swedish badminton player who competed for Sweden at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. David Elm (footballer)
David Elm (born 10 January 1983) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He played professionally for the Swedish clubs Kalmar FF, Falkenbergs FF and IF Elfsborg – and also played for Fulham in the English Premier League during a career that spanned between 2004 and 2017. He is the older brother of fellow former footballers Rasmus Elm and Viktor Elm. Karlskrona
Karlskrona (, , ) is a locality and the seat of Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County, Sweden with a population of 66,675 in 2018. It is also the capital of Blekinge County. Karlskrona is known as Sweden's only baroque city and is host to Sweden's largest naval base and the headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard. Rasmus Christoffer Elm (born 17 March 1988) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently the assistant coach of Kalmar FF. Viktor Sebastian Elm (born 13 November 1985) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a centre-back and midfielder. He is best remembered for his time with Kalmar FF with which he won the 2007 Svenska Cupen and 2008 Allsvenskan. He also represented Heerenveen and AZ in the Netherlands. Kalmar
Kalmar (, , ) is a city in the southeast of Sweden, situated by the Baltic Sea. It had 36,392 inhabitants in 2010 and is the seat of Kalmar Municipality. Växjö
Växjö ( ) is a city and the seat of Växjö Municipality, Kronoberg County, Sweden. It had 70,489 inhabitants (2019) out of a municipal population of 95,995 (2021).
