Emma Nuutinen
Emma Nuutinen (born 7 December 1996) is a Finnish ice hockey player, playing in the Naisten Liiga (NSML) with Kiekko-Espoo. As a member of the Finnish women's national ice hockey team, she participated in both the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics and won bronze at the 2018 Olympic Games. Playing career Nuutinen began her NCAA Division I career in 2016–17, playing her freshman season with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks women's ice hockey program of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) conference. Forced to transfer after the University of North Dakota (UND) abruptly ended its women's ice hockey program following the 2016–17 season, Nuutinen and teammates Vilma Tanskanen and Kennedy Blair joined the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program of the College Hockey America (CHA). Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Lynn University is a private university in Boca Raton, Florida. Founded in 1962, the university awards associate, baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. College Hockey America
College Hockey America (CHA) is a college ice hockey conference in the United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The conference is made up of five women’s teams, with two in Pennsylvania; two in New York, and one in Missouri. A former member in Pennsylvania will return in 2023. History The CHA was founded as a men's-only league in the 1999–2000 season. Vilma Tanskanen (born 14 April 1995) is a Finland, Finnish retired ice hockey player. As a member of the Finland women's national ice hockey team, Finnish national team, she won a bronze medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship and played in the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship and the Ice hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's tournament, women's ice hockey tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league.
