Emma Lundberg (artist)
Emma Lundberg (13 June 1869 – 28 August 1953) was a Swedish artist and architect. Biography Emma Lovisa Bong, was born on 13 June 1869 in Kristianstad, Sweden. Her parents were Anders Fredrik Bong and Carolina Cecilia Sjöström. She married Carl Theodor Ansgarius Lundberg. Their children were geophysicist Hans Lundberg, architect Erik Lundberg, businessman Sten Lundberg and artist Barbro Nilsson. As an artist Lundberg painted her children, her garden and landscapes, typically in watercolor. She was self taught in her interest in garden design. Lundberg moved to Lidingö in 1910 where began considering the garden to be an extra room and worked within her own garden in Lidingö using the fruit trees, hedges and pergolas for structure. She believed the garden should be adapted to the conditions and surrounding nature. She published a book on her Garden in 1932, she later wrote one with her son. Lidingö
Lidingö, also known in its definite form ''Lidingön'' and as ''Lidingölandet'', is an island in the inner Stockholm archipelago, northeast of Stockholm, Sweden. In 2010, the population of the Lidingö urban area on the island was 31,561. It is the seat of government of the Lidingö Municipality, Stockholm County. Erik Lundberg (architect)
Erik Filip Lundberg (13 August 1907 – 14 September 1987) was a Swedish economist, born in Stockholm. He was a professor of political economics at Stockholm University and a member of the Stockholm School of economic thought. He was president of the International Economic Association from 1968 to 1971. From 1969 to 1979, he was a member of the committee that selects the laureates for the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences, the Economics Prize Committee, and served as the committee's chairman from 1975 to 1979. Erik Lundberg was the son of mathematician Ph.D. Filip Lundberg (1876-1965) and Astrid Bergstedt. 1931-33 he studied in the United States as Rockefeller Scholar, after his associate degree at Stockholm University, and when he returned to Sweden, he received post at the Riksbank's economic secretariat. Barbro Nilsson
Barbro Nilsson née Lundberg (1899–1983) was a Swedish textile artist who is remembered in particular for her large tapestries, including the one she produced in collaboration with Sven Erixson for the Gothenburg Concert Hall in 1939. She was active as a teacher at Konstfack and as head of Märta Måås-Fjetterström's weaving establishment in Båstad. Nilsson produced her own rugs and church textiles, many with motives inspired by nature. Millesgården
Millesgården is an art museum and sculpture garden, located on the island of Lidingö in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located in the grounds of the former home of sculptor Carl Milles (1875–1955) and his wife, the artist Olga Milles (1874–1967). Millesgården consists of three main parts: the artists' former home, an art gallery, and a sculpture park. History In 1906, the artist couple Carl and Olga Milles bought a plot on Lidingö. The house was designed by architect Karl M. Bengtson (1878-1935) and inaugurated in 1908. Later renovations and extensions were done in collaboration with Milles's brother architect Evert Milles (1885-1960). They planned to build a home associated with art.
