Emily Fields
Emily Catherine Fields is a fictional character created in 2006 by author Sara Shepard. She is a character of both ''Pretty Little Liars'' books and television series, and initially appears as a " jock girl" and one of the main protagonists of the story. She is part of the group known as the Liars; and is best friends with the four other members, who are also protagonists. Emily is known for her description and shyness, as well as being part of a conservative family, the Fields. Emily's characteristics and stories have the same methodology in both books and television. However, there are some perceptual differences between the two versions, since the television series usually didn't follow the books' scripts. ''Pretty Little Liars'' is a multimedia franchise consisting of two book series, four television series and one web series. The initial novel of the same name was first published in 2006. The first television series also entitled ''Pretty Little Liars'' began airing on ABC Family in June 2010; meanwhile, additional books continued to be published. Outing
Outing is the act of disclosing an LGBT person's sexual orientation or gender identity without that person's consent. It is often done for political reasons, either to instrumentalize homophobia in order to discredit political opponents or to combat homophobia and heterosexism by revealing that a prominent or respected individual is homosexual. Examples of outing in history include the Krupp affair, Eulenburg affair, and Röhm scandal. The ethics of outing are highly contested as it can often have a negative effect on the target's personal life or career.
