Hamburg Bay
Hamburg Bay () is a bay indenting the northwest coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica immediately south of Bonnier Point, Obitel Peninsula. Emen Island and Petrelik Island are located in the southwest part of the bay. The bay was discovered but incompletely defined by a German expedition in 1873–74 under the command of Eduard Dallmann, who named it for Hamburg, Germany, the home port of the expedition. Anvers Island
Anvers Island or Antwerp Island or Antwerpen Island or Isla Amberes is a high, mountainous island long, the largest in the Palmer Archipelago of Antarctica. It was discovered by John Biscoe in 1832 and named in 1898 by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Adrien de Gerlache after the province of Antwerp in Belgium. It lies south-west of Brabant Island at the south-western end of the group. The south-western coastline of the island forms part of the Southwest Anvers Island and Palmer Basin Antarctic Specially Managed Area (ASMA 7). Emen, Bulgaria
Emen ( bg, Емен ) is a village in Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Province, Bulgaria, famous for the nearby caves and canyon. In recent years it has become a major tourist destination, receiving both domestic and foreign visitors. Emen's population is about 100 people, but it triples during the summer. History The Emen cave bears evidence of human habitation, dated to the Neolith. Later, Romans settled in the area and built an outpost on Kaleto hill on the verge of the present-day village. Fortifications included a rock wall from two sides, while the other two sides were naturally protected by the vertical walls of the Emen canyon. Nowadays, parts of the wall are preserved, but treasure-hunter raids have reduced archaeological evidence.
