The embassy of Peru in Cuba ( es, Embajada del Perú en Cuba) represents the permanent diplomatic mission of the South American country in Cuba. The current Peruvian ambassador to Cuba is Gonzalo Flavio Guillén Beker. History Peru and Cuba established relations in 1902. After the Cuban Revolution, relations continued, but their troubled nature led to Peru to sever diplomatic relationships on December 30, 1960, leading to the closure of the Peruvian embassy. Miramar is a residential district (''zona residencial'') of the municipality of Playa, in the city of Havana. Overview Many embassies, including the landmark Russian Embassy, are located in Miramar - in particular on ''Quinta Avenida'' (Fifth Avenue) before called Avenida de las Américas (Avenue of the Americas). Prior to the Revolution, the neighborhood was home to many of Havana's upscale residents. There are many large houses and mansions here. This district and the Country Club (Cubanacán) were the most glamorous spaces in the Havana of the 50s. Revolutionary Government Of The Armed Forces Of Peru
The Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces was a military dictatorship that ruled Peru from 1968 to 1980 after a successful coup d'état by the Armed Forces of Peru. The Revolutionary Junta, headed by Juan Velasco Alvarado, appointed him as the ''de facto'' leader of the government, which promoted revolutionary nationalism and left-wing ideas that left a deep impact in the country.
