Embassy Of Italy In Prague
The Embassy of Italy in Prague ( cs, Italské velvyslanectví v Praze, it, Ambasciata d'Italia a Praga) is located on Nerudova street in Mala Strana, Prague, next door to the church of Our Lady of Caetans and opposite the Embassy of Romania to the Czech Republic, Romanian Embassy. It occupies the large Thun-Hohenstein Palace, which is named after the Thun und Hohenstein family. The embassy's baroque facade features a doorway guarded by two carved eagles. Morzin Palace ( cs, Morzinský palác, german: Palais Morzin) is a baroque palace in Malá Strana, Prague, named after the Morzin family for whom it was built. History The previous town houses on the site were sold by Maximilian von Wallenstein to the Morzin family in 1668. In 1713 Václav Morzin (1676–1737) commissioned Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel to create one palace on the site, and building work was completed the following year. It remained in the Morzin family until 1881. Embassy of Romania The Embassy of Romania in Prague is currently located at Morzin Palace, opposite the Italian Embassy. Baroque
The Baroque (, ; ) is a style of architecture, music, dance, painting, sculpture, poetry, and other arts that flourished in Europe from the early 17th century until the 1750s. In the territories of the Spanish and Portuguese empires including the Iberian Peninsula it continued, together with new styles, until the first decade of the 19th century. It followed Renaissance art and Mannerism and preceded the Rococo (in the past often referred to as "late Baroque") and Neoclassical styles.
