''Elämänmeno'' is a Finnish television series. It aired on Finnish television from 1 November 1978 to 15 November 1978. It was written by Pirkko Saisio, who wrote the novel of that same name that the show was based on, and directed by Åke Lindman. It starred as Eila Nieminen and as Alpo Nieminen. Pirkko Saisio
Pirkko Helena Saisio (born 16 April 1949) is a Finnish author, actress and director. She has also written under the pen names Jukka Larsson and Eva Wein. Saisio has a broad literary output, dealing with many kinds of texts from film screenplays all the way to librettos for the ballet. Her novel ''Betoniyö'' (1981) was adapted into a feature film ''Concrete Night'' in 2013 by Pirjo Honkasalo. Saisio received her degree in acting from Suomen teatterikoulu (now Theatre Academy) in 1975 and worked there as a professor of dramaturgy in 1997 and 2001. In 1975 she won the J. H. Erkko Award for her debut novel ''Elämänmeno''. Saisio's daughter, whose father is the late Harri Hyttinen, is actress Elsa Saisio. Television was introduced in Finland in 1955. Color television started in 1969 and was introduced gradually, with most programs in color by the late 1970s. All terrestrial analogue stations stopped broadcasting on 1 September 2007 after the introduction of digital television; cable providers were allowed to continue analog broadcasting in their networks until 1 March 2008. Typically, foreign-language content is subtitled, retaining the original language soundtrack. This includes interview responses in news or magazine programmes not given in the main language of that programme. Foreign programming intended for children is, however, usually dubbed into one of the national languages. Ã…ke Lindman
Åke Leonard Lindman (born Åke Leonard Järvinen; 11 January 1928 – 3 March 2009) was a Finnish director and actor. In his youth Lindman was a football player, playing defence for the Finnish national team during the Olympics in Helsinki 1952. He represented the football club HIFK in the Finnish league where he played 81 games and scored 9 goals, he also played in second division for 8 seasons. In the 1960s, the British English Football League club Swindon Town F.C. wanted to sign him, but he turned them down to focus on his acting career. Åke Lindman's breakthrough as an actor came with his role as the stubborn soldier Lehto in the Edvin Laine film'' The Unknown Soldier'' in 1955. Later, he would also achieve fame as captain Torsten Jansson in the Swedish soap opera ''Rederiet''.
