Els Dietvorst is a Belgian artist, filmmaker, and shepherd who lives and works in Duncormick, Ireland. She is an artist whose work focuses on communication, collaboration, and social conflicts. She collects scraps and fragments of the world and models them, films them, draws them, and tells their story in images. Not so much to point out certain abuses and even less to save the world through art, but above all to provide something to hold on to for herself and the spectator, to create order where there was chaos and through the enumerated reality to hold up a mirror that allows us to tune in to the universal everydayness, to the common, to that which in a mad world is increasingly considered uncommon. Duncormick
Duncormick or Duncormac () is a rural village and surrounding community located in County Wexford, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. At the time of the 2016 census, the village of Duncormick had a population of 116 people. The village is from Wexford Town, close to the fishing village of Kilmore Quay which is one of the largest fishing harbours in Ireland. Duncormick is sometimes used to refer not only to a village, but also to the rural area surrounding it. Dirk Braeckman
Dirk Braeckman (born 1958 in Eeklo, Belgium) is a Belgian photographer who lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. The artist studied photography and film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent from 1977 until 1981. Photography career Dirk Braeckman has had numerous group exhibitions and several solo shows in Europe, including ones at Ghent's SMAK (2001)and the De Pont Foundation in Tilburg (2004). Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival held in April each year in Nyon, Switzerland. Luc Tuymans (born 14 June 1958) is a Belgian visual artist best known for his paintings which explore people's relationship with history and confront their ability to ignore it. World War II is a recurring theme in his work. He is a key figure of the generation of European figurative painters who gained renown at a time when many believed the medium had lost its relevance due to the new digital age.
