Elmira Antommarchi (born in Cúcuta, Colombia) was a Colombian poet who published numerous poems. All her poems appear in various anthologies. Elmira's sisters, Hortensia Antommarchi and Dorila Antommarchi, were also published poets. Cúcuta
Cúcuta (), officially San José de Cúcuta, is a Colombian municipality, capital of the department of Norte de Santander and nucleus of the Metropolitan Area of Cúcuta. The city is located in the homonymous valley, at the foot of the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes, on the border with Venezuela. It comprises an area of approximately 1119 km2, with an urban area of 64 km2 (divided into 10 communes) and a rural area of 1055 km2 (divided into 10 townships). Dorila Antommarchi de Rojas (1850s – 1923) published numerous poems and sometimes used the pseudonym Colombiana. All her poems appear in various anthologies. Her sisters, Hortensia Antommarchi and Elmira Antommarchi, were also published poets. She died in her native town of Cúcuta. François Carlo Antommarchi
François Carlo Antommarchi (5 July 1780 in Morsiglia, Corsica – 4 March 1838 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba) was Napoleon's physician from 1818 to his death in 1821. He began his studies in Livorno, Italy, and later earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Medicine at the University of Pisa in March 1808. Antommarchi then went to Florence, Italy, and was attached to the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova.Leonardo da Vinci studied anatomy at the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuov/ref> Antommarchi earned the diploma of Surgeon in 1812 from the University of Florence (i.e. Imperial University) and was appointed by its president as Prosector.
