Arboretum Ellerhoop-Thiensen
The Ellerhoop-Thiensen Arboretum (17 hectares, of which about 7.5 hectares are open to the public) is an arboretum and botanical garden located at Thiensen 4, Ellerhoop, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is open daily; an admission fee is charged. The arboretum dates to 1943 when Timm & Co. formed a nursery on the site. In 1956 its last owner, Erich Frahm, established an arboretum (3.5 hectares) in cooperation with dendrologist Dr. Gerd Krüssman. In 1980 the site was acquired by the state, along with 10 hectares for expansion, and a group including the Botanical Garden of the University of Hamburg helped plan its future. In 1989 the non-profit ''Arboretum Förderkreis Baumbark Ellerhoop-Thiensen eV'' was established to support the arboretum, and in 1996 responsibility was handed to this organization. Pinneberg (district)
Pinneberg () is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the northwest and clockwise) the districts of Steinburg and Segeberg, the city (and state) of Hamburg and the state of Lower Saxony (district Stade). The island of Heligoland is also part of the district. History The district is roughly identical to the former county of Holstein-Pinneberg. It was established by the Prussian administration in 1867. Since then there has been a continuous loss of territory to the neighbouring cities of Altona (later itself a part of Hamburg), Hamburg and Norderstedt. Hurst Green, East Sussex
Hurst Green is a village and civil parish in the Rother district of East Sussex, England, and is located south of the East Sussex / Kent border at Flimwell. The area is entirely contained within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is located on the A21 road, halfway between Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in the north and Hastings in the south, approx 13 miles (20 km) each way. The A265 road starts in the village at the A21, previously starting in Hawkhurst. There is one active church in the village: the brick-built Church of England parish church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The Roman Catholic church of Our Lady Help of Christians is now disused and has now been converted into a community shop, which also contains the village post office.
