Elle était Si Jolie
"Elle était si jolie" (; "She Was So Pretty") was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963, performed in French by Alain Barrière. The song was performed eleventh on the night (following 's Esther Ofarim with " T'en va pas" and preceding 's José Guardiola with " Algo prodigioso"). At the close of voting, it had received 25 points, placing 5th in a field of 16. The song is a ballad, with Barrière reminiscing about a girl he used to know and how pretty she was. Her beauty was apparently so much that he could not love her. Barrière also recorded the song in German and Italian, as "Du gingst fort ohne Abschied" and "Era troppo carina" respectively. The song was well received in Latin America, particularly in Chile. It was succeeded as French representative at the 1964 contest by Rachel with " Le Chant de Mallory". Serbian Language
Serbian (, ) is the standardized variety of the Serbo-Croatian language mainly used by Serbs. It is the official and national language of Serbia, one of the three official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina and co-official in Montenegro and Kosovo. Daklon
Daklon (born Joseph Levy; 6 April 1944) is an Israeli singer. He was born in Tel Aviv's Kerem Hateimanim neighborhood, the son of Jewish immigrants from the Shar'ab region in Yemen. Daklon explains the source of his nickname: "In those days everyone in the Kerem had a nickname. Your given name was a form of identification . As a kid I was quite short and skinny, (Hebrew: דק, ''dak''; ''daq''), and so, they called me ''Daklon''." He started his musical career as an 11-year-old when his teacher sent him to do a piece for a religious music radio show. Career At the end of the 1950s Daklon's professional career took off.
