Elizabeth Poblete
Elizabeth Francesca Poblete Fernández (born 28 September 1987 in Santiago) is a Chilean weightlifter. Poblete represented Chile at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's heavyweight category (75 kg). Poblete placed twelfth in this event, as she successfully lifted 91 kg in the single-motion snatch, and hoisted 106 kg in the two-part, shoulder-to-overhead clean and jerk, for a total of 197 kg. On 8 December 2009, Poblete was featured in the world headlines, when she unexpectedly gave birth to a boy during a training session in Brazil, not even realizing that she was pregnant. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. International Weightlifting Federation
The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), headquartered in Lausanne, is the international governing body for the sport of Olympic weightlifting. The IWF was founded in 1905, and has 192 Member Federations. The IWF President is Mohammed Hasan Jalood of Iraq. Originally called the Fédération Haltérophile International (FHI), it changed its name to IWF between the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics.
