Elisabeth Eide
Elisabeth Eide (born 22 July 1950) is a Norwegian journalist, teacher, novelist and non-fiction writer. She was born in Bergen. Eide made her novel debut in 1994 with ''Til Kabul faller ''. Further novels (crime fiction) are ''Utviklingens hjul'' from 1997, ''Der mørket leker med ilden'' from 1998, and '' Skyteskiver'' from 2000. She received the Ossietzky Award in 2002. Eide was an active participant in the Maoist movement in Norway, and was part of a delegation with AKP (m-l) that visited Pol Pot Pol Pot; (born Saloth Sâr;; 19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998) was a Cambodian revolutionary, dictator, and politician who ruled Cambodia as Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea between 1976 and 1979. Bergen
Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. The municipality covers and is on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. Maoism, officially called Mao Zedong Thought by the Chinese Communist Party, is a variety of Marxism–Leninism that Mao Zedong developed to realise a socialist revolution in the agricultural, pre-industrial society of the Republic of China and later the People's Republic of China. The Workers' Communist Party ( no, Arbeidernes Kommunistparti, AKP) was a Norwegian communist party (1973–2007). AKP was a Maoist party and one of two communist parties in Norway; the other was the older Communist Party of Norway which had remained pro-Soviet. The relationship between the two parties was characterized by strong hostility. AKP was founded in 1973, as ''Arbeidernes Kommunistparti (marxist-leninistene)''. It did not participate directly in elections, but members had "activity duty", meaning that they were to work for the party's goals – passive members were not accepted. Pol Pot; (born Saloth Sâr;; 19 May 1925 – 15 April 1998) was a Cambodian revolutionary, dictator, and politician who ruled Cambodia as Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea between 1976 and 1979. Ideologically a Marxist–Leninist and a Khmer nationalist, he was a leading member of Cambodia's communist movement, the Khmer Rouge, from 1963 until 1997 and served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from 1963 to 1981.
