Elis James (comedian)
Owain Elis James (born 3 November 1980) is a Welsh comedian, broadcaster and actor originally from Haverfordwest. He grew up in Carmarthen and later lived in Cardiff. He is now based in South London. He is bilingual in Welsh and English and has performed stand-up in both languages. Early life James was born in Haverfordwest and grew up in Carmarthen, Wales. He has two younger sisters, Carys and Nia. James's mother worked with the father of Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert and the mother of Welsh musician Euros Childs. James studied Modern History and Politics at Cardiff University. Prior to becoming a professional comedian, James engaged in various forms of employment, including temp work, charity work and part-time work at a café. Haverfordwest (, ; cy, Hwlffordd ) is the county town of Pembrokeshire, Wales, and the most populous urban area in Pembrokeshire with a population of 14,596 in 2011. Eisteddfod
In Welsh culture, an ''eisteddfod'' is an institution and festival with several ranked competitions, including in poetry and music. The term ''eisteddfod'', which is formed from the Welsh morphemes: , meaning 'sit', and , meaning 'be', means, according to Hywel Teifi Edwards, "sitting-together." Radio X is a British National commercial radio station focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock, and owned by Global. Radio X launched in 1989 as a pirate radio station, a licensed London-wide station in 1997 and nationally in 2015 under the rebranded nand, Xfm. Elis James And John Robins
The Elis James and John Robins show is a weekly radio show presented by British comedians Elis James and John Robins. Formerly broadcast on commercial radio station Radio X, the show now airs on BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday afternoons from 2:00pm–4:00pm. Highlights from the show are released as a weekly podcast. Robins has described the show as "a commercial indie radio show that has got wildly out of hand". Mike Bubbins (born 18 April 1972) is a Welsh comedian, writer and actor. He has appeared in various TV projects as himself and acted in several BBC sitcoms. Bubbins makes regular appearances on radio as a character, a professional superfan for hire, and as himself. He has performed stand-up comedy throughout the UK, supporting Rhod Gilbert and Rich Hall. Michael James Wozniak is a British comedian, writer and actor. He portrays Brian in the Channel 4 sitcom '' Man Down'' and is a member of the team that makes ''Small Scenes'' for BBC Radio 4. The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, better known as the Hay Festival ( cy, Gŵyl Y Gelli), is an annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, Wales, for 10 days from May to June. Chris Corcoran
Chris 'Korkey' Corcoran (born 10 April 1972) is a British comedian and broadcaster from Wales. Before becoming a comedian, he taught history at Barry Comprehensive School and was the head of history at Hayes Manor School, now Rosedale College. Stand-up Along with Elis James, Corcoran regularly performed as 'Mr Chairman' in ''Chris Corcoran's Committee Meeting'', a live comedy show at The Ponty Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd.
