Eley Industrial Estate
Eley Industrial Estate is in Edmonton, London. Bordered by the Angel Road which is part of the North Circular Road A406 road, the River Lee Navigation, and the Lea Valley Lines railway line. The estate is named after Eley Brothers who manufactured firearms cartridges here. Today The estate is now mostly used for warehousing and retail outlets. The former B&I Nathan furniture factory is now used to manufacture the Parker Knoll range of furniture. Coca-Cola are a major employer with a manufacturing plant on the estate. Eley Kishimoto, is a British fashion and design company founded in 1992 by Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. The London-based company is primarily known for its print design. The principal commercial activity of the company is womenswear fashion and accessories. History Mark Eley graduated from Brighton Polytechnic in 1990 with a BA in fashion and weave. Wakako Kishimoto graduated from Central Saint Martins in 1992 with a BA in fashion and print. They first met in 1989 while interning in New York, and founded Eley Kishimoto in 1992, by producing prints for other designers including Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Jil Sander and Marc Jacobs. In 1996 the partnership created their first womenswear collection. Eley Limited is a British manufacturer of firearms cartridges. Historically the company has produced a broad variety of ammunition, but today specialises in .22 Long Rifle cartridges for competitive target shooting. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, six of the twelve medals for cartridge rifle and pistol were won using Eley ammunition. History Founded as Eley Brothers by Charles and William Eley in London in the 1820s, the company purchased the patent rights to the "wire cartridge" in the spring or early summer of 1828. The patent for "wire cartridge" was issued by the English Patent Office on 28 November 1827 to Joshua Jenour under Patent No. 5570. Mr. Jenour had been born in Fleet Street, London in 1755 and had previously been the owner and manager of the ''Daily Advertiser'', a London newspaper. Eley Peak
Eley Peak () is a small rock peak (2311m) in the northern part of the Soholt Peaks, overlooking the head of Balish Glacier in the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains. It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1961–66, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Richard G. Eley, a U.S. Navy photographer on flights over Marie Byrd Land and Ellsworth Land, 1965–66 and 1966–67. It was first climbed on December 20, 2013, by Ralf Laier, Pachi Ibarra and Seth Timpano in Alpine style during their traverse of the Soholt Peaks.
