The electoral district of Yan Yean is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is located on the fringes of Melbourne, Victoria, Melbourne's northern suburbs and contains the towns of Hurstbridge, Victoria, Hurstbridge, Plenty, Victoria, Plenty, Whittlesea, Victoria, Whittlesea and Yan Yean, Victoria, Yan Yean. Lauren Kathage
Lauren Kathage is an Australian politician who is the current member for the district of Yan Yean in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. She is a member of the Labor Party and was elected in the 2022 state election, after replacing retiring MLA Danielle Green. Kathage was born in South Australia and grew up in Queensland. Danielle Green
Danielle Louise Green (born 19 September 1963) is a former Australian politician, who served as the member for Yan Yean in the Victorian Legislative Assembly until 2022. She represented the Labor Party Before entering Parliament, she had completed a Bachelor of Arts at Deakin University in 1993, and she was an electoral officer for Andre Haermeyer before a redistribution turned Yan Yean into a notionally Liberal seat. Haermeyer chose to contest Kororoit at the 2002 election. Green won Labor preselection. Amid the massive Labor wave that swept Victoria in that election, Green won on a swing of over 10 percent, turning Yan Yean into a safe Labor seat in one stroke. 2002 Victorian State Election
The 2002 Victorian state election, held on Saturday, 30 November 2002, was for the 55th Parliament of Victoria. It was held to elect the 88 members of Victorian Legislative Assembly and 22 members of the 44-member Legislative Council.
