Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Eduardo Alcaraz
Alfredo Vergara Morales (13 April 1915 – 18 April 1987), best known by the stage name Eduardo Alcaraz, was a Chilean-Mexican actor. Born in Santiago, he was based in Mexico since 1951. He appeared in films such as '' Escuela de rateros'' (1958) alongside Pedro Infante. He also worked as voice actor in many movies and cartoons. In 1949, while working at Radio Quito in Ecuador, he participated in an adaptation of ''The War of the Worlds'', similar to how Orson Welles had done a decade earlier in the United States. Alcaraz was in charge of the script of this new version, which like Welles's version represented the events narrated as if it were a true transmission. When it was revealed that it was a fictional story, a crowd made their way to the '' El Comercio'' newspaper building, where the radio worked, and set it on fire. Six people died. Caridad Bravo Adams
Caridad Bravo Adams (; born on January 14, 1908, in Villahermosa, Tabasco – August 13, 1990 in Mexico City) was a prolific Mexico, Mexican writer and the most famous telenovela writer worldwide. She was born to a couple of Cuban actors and she was part of an extended family of artists, being the sister of Venezuelan actor Leon Bravo, one of the pioneers of theater, radio and TV in Venezuela. She published her first book at the age of 16, titled ''Pétalos sueltos''. She then moved back to Cuba with her parents, and later returned to Mexico, where she kept writing and obtained a role in her only film, ''Corazón bandolero'' (1934). She became a chair member of the Ateneo Mexicano de Mujeres and later moved back to Cuba, where she wrote the radionovela ''Yo no creo en los hombres'', which was adapted in Mexico for telenovelas in 1969 and 1988. Antonio Raxel
Antonio Salazar Alejos (13 April 1922 – 25 November 1999), professionally known as Antonio Raxel, was a Mexican actor. He was also a dubbing actor for TV shows, movies, and animation. Education and acting career Raxel was born in San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas. Raxel studied his career at the National Institute of Fine Arts under the tutelage of master Japanese Seki Sano. While here Raxel participated in 85 plays. He started working in professional theater companies, primarily the Maria Tereza Montoya, Anita Blanch and Enrique Rambal. His film career began in 1950, in supporting roles and he became a star next to stars of the golden age Mexican cinema, participating in at least 250 tapes. Germán Horacio Robles San Agustín (March 20, 1929 – November 21, 2015) was a Spanish actor who came to Mexico when he was 17, after Spain's civil war. In Mexican cinema, he is best known for his amazing characterization of vampires in many cult movies, especially in ''El Vampiro''. Isabelita Blanch (1906–1985) was a Spanish-born Mexican actress, who specialized in vaudeville and comedy during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She and her sister opened several theater companies and performed throughout Mexico and in the US. She also acted in movies and performed in one television series.
