''El Mark'' is a B-side Extended play, EP recording released by the band Glassjaw in 2005 exclusively on iTunes. It consists of two previously released United Kingdom, UK B-Sides (from the "Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" single) and a new previously unreleased track, entitled "Oxycodone". The track "The Number No Good Things Come Of" features Daryl Palumbo as the only Glassjaw member, Ross Robinson plays piano and Shannon Larkin is on Drum kit, drums. The band is fronted by vocalist Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck, and was a major part of the Long Island music scene in the early 2000s. The band has been influential in the progression of the underground music scene in the eastern United States and United Kingdom for the post-hardcore genre, and are known for their intense live shows as well as their frequent line-up changes. Biography Early years (1993–1998) The band formed in the summer of 1993 after Palumbo and Beck met each other at camp. Of the band name, Beck has said: "We had a list of names, and we were just like, let's pick one of these band names which ones the coolest. Shannon Larkin
James Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967) is an American musician, best known as the drummer of rock band Godsmack. He replaced the previous drummer Tommy Stewart in June 2002. Prior to Godsmack, he was a member of Amen, Candlebox, Ugly Kid Joe, and Souls at Zero (formerly Wrathchild America). Shannon played drums for Godsmack for their albums '' Faceless'', '' IV'', '' The Other Side EP'', '' The Oracle'', '' 1000hp'', and their latest album ''When Legends Rise''. Career Larkin has been playing drums since the age of ten. He formed Wrathchild America in 1978, recording two albums for Atlantic Records before being dropped by the label. The group disbanded and later reformed as Souls at Zero, signing with Energy Rekords and releasing an eponymous debut album that was well received by critics. Piano
The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). Daryl Palumbo
Daryl Palumbo (born February 10, 1979) is an American musician, originally from Bellmore, New York. He is the frontman of the bands Glassjaw, Head Automatica and Color Film. As a youth he was a member of the Long Island straight edge band ''XbustedX.'' In 1993 he met guitarist Justin Beck, who would become his good friend. Together they formed Glassjaw. Palumbo has Crohn's disease, which has acted as inspiration for much of his musical output, most notably in the lyrical content of Glassjaw's major label debut ''Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence''. His affliction has affected his bands' ability to tour, including the cancellation of a tour with The Used in 2005. Cosmopolitan Bloodloss
"Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" is the lead single from Glassjaw's 2002 studio album, ''Worship and Tribute''. Two differing versions were released in the US and the UK. As with many Glassjaw songs, "Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" is lyrically ambiguous and oddly phrased. It mentions a nervous female and someone at an airport "addressing most littlest." It is widely speculated this song is written from the perspective of someone who is opposed to abortion, with Daryl Palumbo himself being pro-choice. Aiding the song's complexity are its many independent layers of guitar which help give it an aggressive and somewhat paranoid feel. The song was featured in the video game ''Legends of Wrestling II'' in 2002. B-side
The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. ''Our Color Green (The Singles)'' is the third extended play by the American post-hardcore band Glassjaw, self-released on January 1, 2011. The EP compiles five singles that were previously released throughout the later part of 2010. ''Our Color Green (The Singles)'' is the first release from Glassjaw since the 2005 B-sides EP ''El Mark'', and first release of original material since the 2002 studio album ''Worship and Tribute''. It is also the first release by the band as a four-piece, without Todd Weinstock. Background Following the tours in support of their 2002 studio album ''Worship and Tribute'', Glassjaw went on hiatus for a few years.
