The name means "an ideal spot" in the Cree language. The majority of residential construction in the neighbourhood occurred during the 1970s when approximately three out of every five (62.4%) residences were constructed. Most of the remaining residences (26.2%) were constructed during the 1980s with one out of every ten residences (8.2%) were constructed during the 1990s. Mill Woods Park or Mill Woods Sport Park is a large multi-recreational park located in the centre of Mill Woods, Edmonton, just to the west of Mill Woods Town Centre. It serves as the school fields for both Holy Trinity and J Percy Page High Schools. The park features picnic sites, water playground, small lake, paved walkways, sports field, and a skate park. Mill Woods Town Centre is a shopping centre located in south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the neighbourhood of Mill Woods. It contains service and retail including North Central CO-OP and Shoppers Drug Mart. Some surrounding satellite stores are located in and around the mall's exterior properties. Stores inside the mall include Tim Hortons, M&M Meat Shops Ltd.,Alberta Works Support Service Center, Telus Mobility, and more.
