Ekaterina Ivonina
Yekaterina Mikhailovna Ivonina (russian: Екатерина Михайловна Ивонина; born 14 June 1994) is a Russian distance runner who specialises in the 3000 metres steeplechase. She is a four-time winner of the steeplechase at the Russian Athletics Championships and competed as a neutral athlete at the 2019 World Athletics Championships. Ivonina is from in Kirov, Kirov Oblast. Her athletic career initially focused on mountain running and in this discipline she performed at the World Mountain Running Championships in 2011 and 2012, and shared in the junior team gold medal at the 2013 European Mountain Running Championships. She won her first national title in the 2000 metres steeplechase at the 2013 Russian Under-20 Indoor Championships. Authorised Neutral Athlete (ANA) is a capacity under which athletes can compete at international sporting competitions without representing their nations, as is standard convention under the Olympic Charter. As of August 2022, only Russian and Belarusian athletes of some sports have competed or are competing within the ANA capacity. Originally introduced in athletics in 2017 following the Russian doping scandal which first came to light in December 2014, the term was introduced to other sports following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Quoting a breach of the Olympic Truce by the Russian government in which Belarus was complicit, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended banning all teams, officials and competitors from Russia and Belarus from being involved in sport, but where this was not possible, to allow individuals to compete in a neutral capacity. 2012 European Mountain Running Championships
The 2012 European Mountain Running Championships were held on 7 July at Pamukkale in Denizli, Turkey. They were that year's area championships for mountain running, held by the European Athletic Association in conjunction with the Turkish Athletic Federation. The competition featured four races, with senior and junior races for both men and women. A total of 163 runners from 21 nations started the competition. The men's race was 12.2 km long and featured an ascent of 700 m. The women's and junior men's races were 8.3 km long comprising a rise of 470 m. The junior women's race was 4.4 km over a hill of 240 m. Ponte di Legno ( Camunian: ) is an Italian ''comune'' of 1,729 inhabitants in Val Camonica, province of Brescia, in Lombardy. Geography Situated at the confluence of the two source rivers of the Oglio, Ponte di Legno is the uppermost comune of Valle Camonica. 2012 World Mountain Running Championships
The 2012 World Mountain Running Championships were held on 2 September in Val Camonica in the Italian Alps. The course ran from Temù - Ponte di Legno to Tonale Pass. It was the 28th edition of the championships, organised by the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), and the seventh time that Italy had hosted the competition. The competition featured four races, with senior and junior (under-19) races for both men and women. A total of 343 runners from a record high of 40 nations finished the competition. All the races for the 2012 edition of the championships were uphill. The men's course was 14.1 km long with an incline of 1150 m. 1500 Metres
The 1500 metres or 1,500-metre run (typically pronounced 'fifteen-hundred metres') is the foremost middle distance track event in athletics. The distance has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 and the World Championships in Athletics since 1983. It is equivalent to 1.5 kilometers or approximately miles. The event is closely associated with its slightly longer cousin, the mile race, from which it derives its nickname "the metric mile".
