Eitanim ( he, אֵיתָנִים) is a psychiatric hospital in central Israel. Located near Jerusalem, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In it had a population of . History In 1942 an agricultural school was established in the area (then known as Dayr 'Amr) for Arab orphans of the 1936–1939 Arab revolt in Palestine. In 1950 a hospital for people with tuberculosis was founded on the site. Today Eitanim is a psychiatric hospital that specializes in acute emergency cases. It operates as a branch of Kfar Shaul and the Jerusalem Mental Health Center. The compound has separate facilities for men and women. Eitanim is the only psychiatric hospital in Israel with an entire ward dedicated to the treatment of severe autism in adults. Dayr 'Amr
Dayr 'Amr was a Palestinian Arab village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on July 17, 1948, by the Fourth Battalion of the Har'el Brigade, during the second stage of Operation Dan. It was located 12.5 km west of Jerusalem. Dayr 'Amr was named after a local sage known by al-Sa'i 'Amr and a shrine was in the village dedicated to him. History In 1863, Victor Guérin found here a wali, devoted to a Sheikh Amer, and this wali gave name to the neighbouring "ruin", which he described as "twenty small chambers, half of which have been collapsed and enclosed within the same enclosure: they were constructed with materials of all kinds and date from the Middle Ages." Mateh Yehuda Regional Council
Mateh Yehuda Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית מטה יהודה, ''Mo'atza Azorit Mateh Yehuda'', ar, مجلس إقليمي ماتيه يهودا ) is a regional council in the Jerusalem District of Israel. In 2008 it was home to 36,200 people. The name of the regional council stems from the fact that its territory was part of the land allotted to the Tribe of Judah, according to the Bible. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease usually caused by '' Mycobacterium tuberculosis'' (MTB) bacteria. Tuberculosis generally affects the lungs, but it can also affect other parts of the body.
